The enactment of the 21st Century Cures Act and the pandemic-related emergence of telehealth have made digital tools a central part of care. These changes have made digital disparities evident and prompted a need to develop a digitally inclusive healthcare system. Academic medical centers (AMCs) across the country have become leaders in developing digital health equity strategies to drive care. As part of the AAMC initiatives to improve healthcare access, collaborate with communities, and advance health equity, the AAMC interviewed 11 AMCs about their current and future strategies focused on digital health equity. This presentation will provide a summary of interviews focusing on the following areas: establishing digital health equity Leadership, strategy, and advocacy, assessing, and addressing digital needs, and adapting the design and implementation of digital tools.
