Hands together to show that leveraging digital modalities to support transitions to value-based delivery and payment in California is successful.

Our Mission

The California Telehealth Resource Center (CTRC) offers no-cost, unbiased training and educational resources that help California providers and patients get the most from digital health. We create lasting change and improvement by focusing on implementation, sustainability, reimbursement and policy, integration, workflows, and patient/provider adoption.

As part of the National Consortium of Telehealth Resource Centers and the OCHIN family of companies, CTRC assists thousands of providers and patients annually. We have extensive experience supporting the health care safety net, rural and urban providers, and patients and families throughout California who may otherwise be unable to access quality health care due to geographic isolation, lack of insurance, disability, homelessness, and more.

Advances New Models

With digital health, clinicians can extend their patient base beyond brick-and-mortar facilities—offering more convenient hours and providing more flexible, responsive patient follow-up care.

Boosts Patient Engagement

Boosts Patient Engagement

Today, digital health is being used to monitor chronic conditions from the comfort of a patient’s own home. Remote teams can act as consultative coaches who engage each patient in their unique health care journey.

Expands Health Care Access

Expands Health Care Access

Digital health and it’s different modalities such as audio synchronous and e-consults can be used to reach patients in rural areas, or those outside normal care delivery systems. It’s a valuable tool that assists with diagnosis, follow-up treatment, and ongoing patient education.

Improves Clinical Workflows

Improves Clinical Workflows

Digital health can help facilitate faster care delivery. It lets physicians triage each case—capturing and storing patient data to enhance communication and improve decision-making. Over time, this often increases patient trust and may even boost satisfaction scores.

Increases Practice Revenue

Increases Practice Revenue

Digital health may reduce overhead costs per visit, because it’s a highly efficient care model for both patient and provider. Physicians can often bill for uncompensated phone calls, while simultaneously extending hours to expand billable time. Digital health cuts down on appointment no-shows, and can often provide a competitive advantage by attracting/retaining a broader range of patients.

Enhances Quality of Care

Enhances Quality of Care

Virtual health can improve service delivery and treatment follow-through for acute conditions—especially in rural or remote settings. It may also reduce unnecessary ER visits, helping more patients comply with treatment protocols by eliminating the need to travel long distances.
