The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Center for
Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) prepared this playbook to help
states that are interested in accelerating the adoption and improvement
of telework practices in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance
Program (CHIP) nationwide. As illustrated here with state and industry
examples, telework enables Medicaid and CHIP workers to maintain the
capacity to continue to provide essential services during emergencies,
office closures, or other unforeseen events that limit in-person work. The approaches and information in this playbook are intended as ideas,
and should not be taken as Federal approval of any project
