SUMMARY:The Future is Virtual Care - But how do we get there sustainably?
DESCRIPTION:By now it’s obvious to everyone that virtual care is here to stay. The key question though is: how can health centers\, health systems\, hospitals\, and behavioral health agencies make virtual care an integral part of their care delivery? How can we achieve financial sustainability\, clinical sustainability\, and strategic sustainability? What approaches can we take to increase clinician buy-in and commitment by leadership? \nBased on 15+ years of experience implementing virtual care services\, Christian Milaster will share a set of pragmatic approaches\, mindset models\, and tactics to enable those who care about virtual care to make it stay. Sustainably. \nThe presentation will present approaches and tactics \n\nto create clinician buy buy-in and leadership commitment\nto build the business\, financial\, and clinical case for virtual care\nto increase your organization’s virtual care maturity\nfor telehealth optimization: workflows\, technology\, and policy\nto create a virtual care and digital health strategy\nto manage virtual care performance\n\n \nAbout the Presenter:  \nChristian Milaster is passionate about enabling the delivery of extraordinary care. He relentlessly advocates for bringing satisfaction to the medical profession by applying systems thinking and implementing systems engineering solutions.  \nChristian is the Founder and CEO of Ingenium Digital Health Advisors\, a boutique consulting firm focused on leveraging Digital Health to enable the delivery of extraordinary care. Ingenium comprises a 10-person consulting team and a consortium of over a dozen expert advisors. \nBorn\, raised\, and educated as an engineer in Germany\, Christian started his career at IBM Global Services before joining the Mayo Clinic in 2000\, where he worked for 12 years in various roles before launching Ingenium. \n  \n  \nSession Materials: \nWatch the Recording on YouTube \nView Slides Here  \nView an archive of Christian’s articles \nView Christian’s LinkedIn Newsletter  \n

SUMMARY:Telehealth + Artificial Intelligence: A Clear Synergy to Increase Effectiveness of Screening in Primary Care
DESCRIPTION:Artificial intelligence (AI) programs have recently been shown to be more accurate than human experts in diagnosing diseases such as diabetic retinopathy. Real-world experiences with autonomous AI\, however\, have been discouraging due to high false positive rates\, the inability to accommodate real-world data from diverse patients\, and limited diagnostic output (often just a yes or no for a specific disease). AI\, which is designed to work with human experts\, overcomes these shortcomings and improves outcomes by shortening the time that it takes to intervene in patients who need prompt treatment. Telehealth + AI programs provide the depth and breadth of human experts while enabling immediate intervention for patients who are at high risk of complications. Presented by: Jorge Cuadros\, OD\, Ph.D.\, Clinical Professor\, and CEO | University of California\, Berkeley\, Meredith Morgan Optometric Eye Center\, and EyePACS Inc. Learning \nObjectives: \n\nGain knowledge of recent studies regarding the advantages and shortcomings of real-world AI programs\nHave an evidence-based understanding of how telehealth + AI programs can improve outcomes for patients with complications of chronic disease\nUnderstand the billing and reimbursement advantages of telehealth + AI\n\nClick Here to View the Recording \nClick Here to View the Slide Deck \nClick Here to View the Q&A Document

SUMMARY:School Health Services Provided via Telehealth: Where are we now?
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column]View the Recording Here[/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nDescription:\nWith the COVID-19 pandemic\, many schools and School-based Health Centers transitioned to telehealth services as a strategy for meeting student health needs when school campuses were closed. With improved technology\, internet access\, and a recognition of the importance of school-based health\, telehealth has emerged as an opportunity to serve students more widely and equitably. The California School-Based Health Alliance will provide an overview of school health services in the state\, focusing on current and aspirational telehealth provisions. They will discuss key models\, strengths and possible pitfalls\, and recommendations. \nGuest Speakers:\nSergio J. Morales is the Executive Director of the California School-Based Health Center Alliance (CSHA)\, a statewide non-profit which aims to improve the health and academic success of children and youth by advancing health services in schools. Sergio brings more than 20 years of experience working in community health\, building innovative solutions through a social justice and health equity lens focusing on sexual + reproductive health\, with an emphasis on: communities of color\, adolescents\, and LGBTQ+ communities.  Sergio strengthened his passion for school health services having spent 7 years managing a School-Based Health Center run by Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center in Hayward\, CA. Most recently he was the Associate Vice President of Programs at Essential Access Health where he was responsible for all community health programs and partnerships\, including the Title X Family Planning program and the STI Prevention Center.  Sergio attended the University of California at Santa Barbara and earned a BA in Chicana/o Studies and a BA in Sociology. Sergio attended the University of San Francisco and earned a Master’s in Public Administration. \n  \nAmy Manta-Ranger has worked in adolescent health for over 20 years\, with a particular focus on school-based health centers. She started her career as a Health Educator at a high school SBHC in Union City; spent many years training adults on adolescent health topics at Health Initiatives for Youth\, and ran multiple child and adolescent health promotion programs through the City of Berkeley.  At La Clinica de La Raza\, an Oakland-based federally qualified health center with eight school-based health centers\, over 8 years\, she expanded the behavioral health services in the SBHC department\, and launched public health screening protocols and trauma interventions. As the Director of Programs for California School-Based Health Alliance\, she has supported the expansion of SBHCs in multiple regions throughout the state and promoted SBHC sexual and reproductive health best practices.  She has an MPH from San Jose State University. \n  \nSang Leng Trieu\, Consultant has been working in school-based health care for more than fifteen years. The first six years were spent with the California School-Based Health Alliance (CSHA) where she supported the development of school-based health centers for five counties in the Southern California region. From 2012 to 2021\, Sang served in several positions at The Los Angeles Trust for Children’s Health where she supported the Wellness Network of the Los Angeles Unified School District\, the Data xChange project\, and research efforts. She is pleased to return to CHSA as a consultant supporting the expansion of school-based health centers in the Inland Empire. Sang is trained in public health. As a marathon runner\, she has raced in all 50 states and seven continents.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]View the Presentation Slide Deck Here[/vc_column][/vc_row]
