SUMMARY:HTRC Remote Patient Monitoring For All Providers
DESCRIPTION:Interest in remotely monitoring patients’ physiological data greatly increased with the addition of several new codes to Medicare coverage and payment rules in 2017. The services come with considerable coding and compliance nuances and continue to evolve with almost every year’s fee schedule updates. This session will define remote physiologic monitoring services\, describe code(s) that may be used to report remote patient monitoring\, and will detail the compliance requirements to provide these services\, as well as discuss several COVID Public Health Emergency Flexibilities.

SUMMARY:UMTRC Remote Patient Monitoring: A Scalable and Sustainable Model
DESCRIPTION:Deaconess Health System had been an early adopter of remote patient monitoring (RPM) technology when it was first introduced a decade ago\, but manual data extraction left the impact of the program difficult to quantify. Reviving and rethinking the program\, Deaconess was able to use a data driven approach to identify the right patient population and cut their readmission rate in half. Patient-friendly equipment led to excellent engagement and a 95% satisfaction rating.  Using an integrated platform with dashboards and reporting\, the program’s ROI and sustainability was easy to quantify.

SUMMARY:CCI Tech Solutions Showcase: Remote Patient Monitoring\, Connected
DESCRIPTION:Remote patient monitoring (RPM) helps patients stay healthy by doing their routine tests and check-ups outside the four walls of traditional health care settings. Using devices that tap digital technology\, patients can collect data about their health — heart rate\, weight\, blood pressure\, heart rate\, blood sugar\, and more — throughout the day. Then that data is transmitted to health professionals. It’s become a hot ticket item in telemedicine for its potential to lower health care costs\, improve chronic disease management\, and reduce preventable repeat trips to the emergency room. \n In this showcase\, we’ll be focusing on RPM that’s “connected\,” meaning devices are able to automatically transmit health data over Wi-Fi or cellular service. \n  \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS EVENT:\nDo you want to monitor your patients’ chronic conditions in a more comprehensive way between visits? Curious about how to use device data to inform your clinical decision-making? All are welcome — especially folks who work in clinics or health centers who are interested in learning more about digital health solutions. \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN:\n\nHow you can fit RPM into your clinical decision model.\nHow you might design workflows around RPM.\nHow you can manage the health of your patients using RPM technology.\n\n  \nhttps://www.careinnovations.org/events/rpm-connected/

SUMMARY:CCI Tech Solutions Showcase: Remote Patient Monitoring\, Unconnected
DESCRIPTION:Remote Patient Monitoring\,  or RPM\, helps patients stay healthy by doing their routine tests and check-ups outside the four walls of traditional health care settings. \nIn this Technology Solutions Showcase\, we’ll be focusing on RPM that’s “unconnected\,” meaning the data must be manually reported and documented. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS EVENT:\nDo you want to monitor your patients’ chronic conditions in a more comprehensive way between visits? Curious about how to use device data to inform your clinical decision-making? All are welcome — especially folks who work in clinics or health centers who are interested in learning more about digital health solutions. \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN:\n\nHow you can fit RPM into your clinical decision model.\nHow you might design workflows around RPM.\nHow you can manage the health of your patients using RPM technology.\n\n  \nhttps://www.careinnovations.org/events/rpm-unconnected/

SUMMARY:HTRC Education Series: Medicare Audits & Appeals
DESCRIPTION:Now more than ever\, revenue integrity is critical. Audits of coding\, billing\, and payment accuracy are necessary to preserve the Medicare program’s integrity as well\, but can considerably interfere with a healthcare provider’s operations and cash flow. This session discusses types of Medicare audits\, strategies for successfully approaching audits\, and discussion of the appeal process to best demonstrate how documentation and billing support payments received for a successful Medicare review \n  \nhttps://redcap.kumc.edu/surveys/?s=LRMW3F4KR4

SUMMARY:CTRC Office Hour: Policy Changes You Should Know for Telehealth
DESCRIPTION:In the first session of the 2022 Office Hours series\, we focused on the many policy changes coming into effect in the new year. \nWhile many of the barriers to telehealth were removed during the COVID pandemic\, it’s important to understand which temporary telehealth policies disappear when the public health emergency ends. CTRC provided a brief overview of the CMS 2022 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule updates for telehealth\, and the “No Surprise Act” (NSA)\, before opening the floor to discussion and questions about the policy and reimbursement changes. \nMaterials/Content: \nEvent Slide Deck \nSession Q&A
