SUMMARY:HTRC Education Series: Medicare Audits & Appeals
DESCRIPTION:Now more than ever\, revenue integrity is critical. Audits of coding\, billing\, and payment accuracy are necessary to preserve the Medicare program’s integrity as well\, but can considerably interfere with a healthcare provider’s operations and cash flow. This session discusses types of Medicare audits\, strategies for successfully approaching audits\, and discussion of the appeal process to best demonstrate how documentation and billing support payments received for a successful Medicare review \n  \nhttps://redcap.kumc.edu/surveys/?s=LRMW3F4KR4

SUMMARY:CTRC Office Hour: Policy Changes You Should Know for Telehealth
DESCRIPTION:In the first session of the 2022 Office Hours series\, we focused on the many policy changes coming into effect in the new year. \nWhile many of the barriers to telehealth were removed during the COVID pandemic\, it’s important to understand which temporary telehealth policies disappear when the public health emergency ends. CTRC provided a brief overview of the CMS 2022 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule updates for telehealth\, and the “No Surprise Act” (NSA)\, before opening the floor to discussion and questions about the policy and reimbursement changes. \nMaterials/Content: \nEvent Slide Deck \nSession Q&A

SUMMARY:NCTRC Webinar - Digital Health in Homes and Communities: Emerging Opportunities for Patient Engagement
DESCRIPTION:Technological advances have introduced new ways to facilitate patient engagement outside clinical settings and support health monitoring and promotion of wellness in home and community settings. This presentation discusses various applications such as “smart home” systems designed to promote safety\, the use of digital phenotyping to enhance symptom management and sensing technologies to support independence. We discuss clinical\, technical and ethical implications of these emerging digital health trends and address theoretical and practical safeguards for patients’ and families’ autonomy and privacy. \nHosted by: Great Plains Telehealth Resource & Assistance Center (gpTRAC) \nPresented by: \nJonathan Neufeld – Program Director of the Great Plains Telehealth Resource & Assistance Center (gpTRAC) \nGeorge Demiris\, PhD\, FACMI – Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor (PIK) \n  \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Telehealth Implementation Workshop Series - Session One: Assessing Program Needs
DESCRIPTION:CTRC has helped hundreds of health centers to successfully implement and grow their telehealth programs. The CTRC Implementation Roadmap curriculum was developed by staff with over 40 years of combined knowledge and experience in telehealth\, in collaboration with a diverse community of health care pioneers and innovators who have shared their insight with us over the years. Join us in this upcoming virtual workshop series! \nAssess-Define-Establish-Implement-Improve \nThis first session will focus on the assessment portion of the Telehealth Implementation Roadmap. A needs assessment helps an organization identify key unmet needs and devise effective strategies and approaches to meet them. The CTRC Telehealth Needs Analysis provides a clear understanding of the nature and scope of unmet needs as well as a sound foundation for planning. The initial clinical analysis helps to clarify objectives and shared expectations\, improve coordination of services and resources\, and provide a supporting structure for your program evaluation. \nThe areas explored during this workshop session will include: \n\nSpecialty service needs\nCurrent payer mix\nTechnical infrastructure\, including:\n\nBroadband\nEquipment\n\n\nStaffing resources and existing telehealth experience\nClinical\, technical\, and administrative leadership buy-in\n\nAttendees will be required to complete and share the results of their self-assessment with CTRC to register and participate in the following three sessions. Stay tuned for more information! \n  \nRegister HERE

SUMMARY:Innovation & Integration Of Telehealth Into Population Health
DESCRIPTION:Over the last decade\, technology innovation has upended every industry in ways that acknowledge and significantly alter consumer behavior. eCommerce is a prime example of a consumer-centered paradigm that shifts the locus from brick-and-mortar to a digital-first marketplace. Consumers now expect convenience\, value\, and a great experience when shopping for any product. Those same expectations are driving the patient-centered health system of the future. To overcome healthcare’s historical challenges to meet the growing population and patient expectations\, we will be required to harness the power of technology to capture and analyze new data on our patients\, autonomously make decisions to intervene and interact with our patients in ways that we have not been able to before. This presentation will discuss how health organizations from across the county are learning from the retail industry and are taking big strides forward in building a smart health system. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center Summit: Navigating Digital Transformation
DESCRIPTION:The Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center (MATRC) will be holding its annual Telehealth Summit on April 24-26\, 2022. Before the COVID-19 pandemic\, healthcare innovation was often discussed in the context of a five to ten-year strategic plan. COVID-19 has served as an accelerant to the adoption and implementation of digital solutions. Processes that would have taken years under normal circumstances began coming to fruition in a matter of weeks and months. But where do we go from here? For some\, keeping up with all the movement toward on-demand healthcare\, big data and predictive analytics\, remote monitoring and wearable medical devices\, artificial intelligence and virtual reality has been exhausting and overwhelming. For others\, it is welcomed and exhilarating. Where are you on this continuum? How much do you trust that these disruptions in how we normally do business will result in improving patient outcomes\, efficiencies\, and/or creating a better work-life balance? Join us as we explore these and other questions related to care model redesign. \n  \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:NCTRC Webinar - Integrated Patient Portals and Improving the Virtual Experience
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by: California Telehealth Resource Center \nPresented by:\nRob Kaye – Technical Program Manager for Digital Patient Engagement\, OCHIN Inc.\nTyra Brown – Improvement Advisor\, OCHIN Inc.\nAllison Pierce – User-Centered Design Specialist\, OCHIN Inc. \nDescription:\nPatient portals offer a secure and convenient connection between the patients and their healthcare providers. Studies have shown that portals increase patient engagement in their health\, identifying unmet clinical needs\, and reducing downstream health events. They also help in timely access for patients to their healthcare data such as test results and visit schedules\, which improves communications between patients and providers. With the rise of video visits and the adoption of digital tools during the pandemic\, there is an opportunity to re-focus on how to best use them. The webinar will discuss how health centers can leverage integrated patient portals for improving the virtual care experience. \nREGISTER HERE
